For this week’s blog, we will shift gears from clothing fashion to makeup and share information on beauty products to achieve the “natural look.”  After all, makeup and clothing go hand in hand!  I would also like to take the time to welcome Shelbi.  She is the new guest blogger for BhavyJ Designs and we are so excited for her fashion blogs throughout the summer!  Take it away Shelbi!

A new make-up trend, that I am sure many of you have noticed, is the “natural-look” or “no make-up look”. As simple as it seems, there are still a few steps involved. I am going to give you some tips on how easy it can be and which brands work best!

For those of you that want that glamorous natural look but don’t want to break the bank, there are great products for half the price and I’ll give you the best bang for your buck!

First, we start with the most important part. Begin with a fresh palette. Clean, tone, and moisturize your skin. Determine what type of skin you have.  It may be oily, dry, or a combination of both but there are cleansers for all types.  Even if you have oily skin, moisturizer is very important. If you suffer from acne it is also important to exfoliate one to two times per week.

A great new cleanser is Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for $25.50. Best bang for your buck is Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover for $6.79. How great is a cleanser AND a make-up remover? It leaves your skin feeling light and refreshed.

Next, apply concealer to any blemishes. I like to put it under my eyes to brighten them and get rid of any dark circles. Make sure you are getting the correct color for your skin tone and always make sure to blend, blend, blend!! Nothing is more embarrassing than having lines all over your face from not blending well.

There is no need to put on heavy foundation, after all, we are going for a natural look. Instead use a sheer moisturizer or BB cream. BB cream stands for Beauty Balm, it can be worn alone as a moisturizer, foundation or sunscreen, or under a foundation or powder.  Most BB creams have added SPF, which is a bonus since you never want to leave home without it!

A wonderful sheer BB cream is Urban Decay Naked Skin Illuminating Beauty Balm for $34. It has SPF 20, is oil free, and adds radiance to your skin. It gives you the perfect glowing look and feels naked on your skin. The best bang for your buck is Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew for $12.99. It contains SPF 15, is wonderful for dehydrated skin and has vitamin C in the formula to brighten your skin.

For oily skin, add a light dusting of powder to your T-zone. The T-zone is the area of your forehead, down your nose to your chin, making a T-shape. This area tends to become more oily and fresh powder keeps your skin from getting shiny.

Next, add a little color for a natural looking flush. Find the right shade of blush for your skin tone. Powder pinks for fair skin, peachy pinks for medium skin, and brownish pinks for darker skin tones.

One of the top voted blushes for 2016 is Benefit Coralista for $29. The best bang for your buck is Wet N Wild Color Icon Blusher for only $2.78!

After these steps of making your skin look naturally radiant, you can use a grey, black or brown eye liner, depending on your skin tone and color of your eyes.  Some people do not like to use eye liner because they think it doesn’t give them a natural look, but apply it correctly and it will add shape to your eyes. Line about two-thirds of the outside of your top lid and one-third of the bottom. As an alternative, you can line your eyes with eye shadow. Always use at least two different shades of shadow for a more professional look. You should only use browns, golds, or silvers depending on your skin and remember to blend! Curl your lashes and put on a light stroke of mascara.

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara  is $15. This mascara can go from natural to bold in seconds depending on the look you are going for! The best bang for your buck is Maybelline Great Lash for only $5.99! It is a classic mascara and is always a great choice for any look.

For your lips, keep it neutral or add a color just a tad brighter than your natural lip color.

NARS Overheated Lip Cover was voted one of the best nude shades for Spring and Summer 2016 for $28. The best bang for your buck, and also top voted, is Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Thrill for $7.99.

Now you can go on those Sunday brunch dates, early Monday morning business meetings, or a quick trip to the grocery store without being overdone with a full face of make-up.

Enjoy your new, natural look!
