New York Fashion Week kicked off on September 7, starting the trends for Spring and Summer 2017. After all the shows, we can sum up the colors to look for and the new trends that will start hitting the shelves.

A luxurious fabric that we cannot wait to wear for any season. Velvet has been seen on shoes, track suits, dresses and more. Labels like Monse and M. Martin gave a range of colors from blush pinks to olive green that are fabulous for the seasons to come.

Now that we have seen it on the runway, we want to see how we can wear this texture every day! If you want to start off small, then start with shoes or an accessory such as a belt.  As you feel comfortable, you can eventually incorporate a dress or suit or even mix different types of fabrics. This velvet mini dress from Express is under $60! The velvet yellow blazer is Banana Republic.
